SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate Beginner.
You should know how to cast on, knit, purl, slip stitches, pick up stitches, bind off and sew together.
For flawless esthetic results I recommend to pay a lot of attention to the tension of stitches. Edge stitches and RS/WS should be knitted with the same tension in order to get a perfect and even woven texture. The pattern download includes a backup slide with tips and tricks regarding the tension.

PATTERN
Written row-by-row instructions are accompanied by photos showing all maneuvers.
The headband is knitted flat (back and forth) and then sewn together, adding a decorative front strip.
Although the pattern is knitted with Aran or even Bulky weight yarn, the used needle size is 1-2 sizes smaller than the yarn usually calls for. This fact and the pattern stitch both create a woven texture which looks like the surface of closed pinecones.

SIZES
The pattern gives instructions how to easily customize the headband to fit your individual head circumference.
Therefore it is ideal for all sizes from Kids/Teens to Adults.
