Heart Mittens
Made in worsted weight yarn (Malabrigo Rios), the fingerless Heart Mittens are an interesting and fast knit. The pattern is written for a range of sizes from toddler to adult and the instructions are given in both chart and written format.

Skills needed
Tubular or provisional cast-on, backward loop cast-on, stockinette and moss stitch, increases, decreases, working in the round, picking up stitches.
Sizes
2-4 (5-8 years, S, M-L)
Finished hand circumference: 14 (16, 18, 20) cm / 5.5 (6.25, 7, 7.75) in. Shown in size S.
Size S will fit older kids (approx 8+ years) and adults with small hands. Size M-L will fit most adults.
Gauge (measured after blocking)
• Moss st: 21 sts and 30 rnds = 10 cm / 4 in, with larger needle(s)
• 1x1 rib (unstretched): 25 sts and 30 rnds = 10 cm / 4 in, with smaller needle(s)
• 9-stitch Heart Panel is 5 cm wide, with larger needle(s)
Materials
Yarn:
70 (80, 90, 110) m / 80 (90, 100, 120) yds of Malabrigo Rios (100% merino wool, 192 m / 210 yds per 100g, shown in Ochre) or similar worsted weight yarn.
Use solid or semi-solid colourways to achieve the best
results.
Needles and notions:
• 4.5 mm (US #7) and 3.75 mm (US #5) in your preferred style for knitting small circumferences in the round
• 5 stitch markers
• Scrap yarn
• Tapestry needle
