These socks have the most beautiful story behind the colour.  When I approached Carmela from Fibre Revolution (https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/FibreRevolution) about designing a pattern around her beautiful yarn, she recommended “Heart of Australia”.  I asked her what her inspiration for the colours in “Heart of Australia” was and learned the wonderful story behind the inspiration.

Carmela was approached by a customer who asked her to custom dye some skeins to make matching scarves for herself and her daughters for a special occasion.  The customer would be traveling across Australia with her husband to meet up with their children who were now all adults that had flown the coop and lived around Australia and abroad.  They would all be coming together to celebrate the couple’s 50th Wedding Anniversary.

This is such a beautiful story.  I have tried to capture this in the design of these socks.  I hope you enjoy knitting them as much as I have enjoyed designing them.
Happy Knitting
