“UNDER THE KURRAJONG TREE”
Sadie from Green Tea Yarns is a Melbourne-based Indie Yarn dyer who loves working and creating with colour.

With a long time background in Fashion and Textiles and a daily uniform of black, Sadie is the first to admit it was like she was returning to a lost love when she rediscovered the fibre arts in 2014. Seeking out gorgeous yarns from around the world to fondle and dye ‘that magic blend of art and science’ Sadie set about to create unique and unusual colour ways to help knitters and crocheters create beautiful things.
These days Sadie tries to live life to the full and not sweat the small stuff spending her time doing the things she loves to do - travelling is a great love of hers and gives her the inspiration for many of her colours. In her own words, ‘Anything arty, crafty and quirky and I’m in love!’

When designing socks I like to ask the dyer where their inspiration for the colours came from. What is the colour’s story? The ‘Under the Kurrajong Tree’ colour inspiration came from Sadie’s holiday on the Sunshine Coast where she would sit under the Kurrajong Tree reading, knitting and enjoying the beauty of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.

I have tried to capture Sadie’s inspiration in my design. These socks are not only soft and gorgeous to wear but are beautiful too and are sure to be admired by all when wearing.

Happy Knitting
