Hearthlines is a generously sized shawl that invites warmth and stillness, whether taking a solitary stroll along a deserted beach, or curled up with a book, a steaming mug of your favourite beverage, and the soft crackle of the fire.
Worked using two skeins of 4ply yarn, this shawl shifts between smooth stockinette, stripes and garter stitch in alternating blocks of colour. Using just simple knit and purl stitches each new section becomes a meditative, mindful knit that’s both engaging and soothing.
The pairing of silk and merino yarn adds a subtle sheen and drape, but due to its simplicity the pattern would work with most yarn bases including textured or fluffy yarns. The pattern will show off the colours in a variegated colourway complemented with a solid or tonal contrast.
Another alternative could be to use up leftovers and do each stripe in a different colour.
Whether draped over your shoulders or layered for warmth for a bracing walk along the shore, Hearthlines is a companion to quiet moments and cozy rituals.
The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted prior to publication and includes written instructions only.
