This wrap was inspired by my friend Fabiana who wanted to capture the colours and essence of the Lago Scanno lake in Italy in a large, cozy wrap.
Based on the Shorelines shawl pattern, this wrap uses a simple stitch pattern to pull contrast stripes into waves on each end of the wrap.
I worked the sample to Fabiana’s vision, using a variegated green for the main body of the wrap to represent the lush hills and mountains surrounding the lake. The middle section of cool speckled blues is the lake itself bordered by a pale sandy coloured shoreline. And the wavy contrast border accents are the colours of the wildflowers that grow around the lake.
The wrap is very generously sized and uses three skeins of 100g / 400-425m 4 ply yarn and 6 x 20g mini-skeins.

The reverse stocking stitch contrast stripes create a fascinating ridge when combined with the gentle chevron pattern in the main body and the centre contrast section provides a welcome break from the pattern.
The generous size and shape make this very easy to style and wear and I’m convinced this will be a staple in my wardrobe year round“ - Kerry
