Fast forward to the boarder’s world - cutting edge urban design to keep warm and look cool. The “Skater Hat” has arrived!

This is a straightforward knitting project that makes a great gift. Purl stitches create a spiral pattern, there is minimal shaping, a great hat for beginners with detailed instructions.

Try using two strands of different weight yarn together to get the proper gauge.

This pattern was updated for Fall 2013 by adding multiple sizes.

Tips: You could knit this up to be a “slouchier” hat simply by knitting more rounds prior to the crown shaping decreases. If your circular needle has an unforgiving cord, you may decide to knit the smaller size(s) with double pointed needles.

I have found that not only teenagers, but younger kids and adults like the Heel Flip Skater Hat. Now you can make one for a younger child straight through to a large adult. I would love to see your finished hats, please feel free to request to have your photo added here to this project page.
