The Heights and valleys shawl is a comforting knit with a very easy and memorisable cable and lace pattern running down from the neck. It is finished with a garter stitch border and an i-cord bind off. The sample uses a rustic, woollen spun yarn which is a delight to work with. In times of ups and downs in life, there is something very soothing with the authentic feel of wool running through your hands. This knit made me feel better about myself during both happy and more trying times in life, and I expect its warmth to lead me through all of the heights and valleys of my days. I sincerely wish the same for you.

The sample shawl was knit in a sport weight yarn and used approximately 300 gr. If you prefer you can knit with fingering weight which will use 200 gr in total.

The patterning consists of a simple cable and an easy lace pattern. I give instructions for cabling without a cable needle, which will speed up your knitting considerably.

This pattern has been proof read and test knitted, but if you have any questions when knitting it you are welcome to contact me.

I wish you happy knitting and thank you for trying one of my patterns!
