This hat and cowl set is a warm Fair Isle set for cold winter days. The cowl is designed to be snug around the neck. It can be easily altered for larger sizes by casting on more stitches in increments of 12. I am a loose knitter so I used a size 7 needle but many knitters may want to go up a size or 2 so that the cowl and hat measure 16” around for toddler sizes. Each increment of 12 stitches will add about 2 inches to the width of the hat or cowl.

I used wonderful Woolfolk yarn because it is so soft and warm. It was a great stash buster because I basically just used up leftover yarn from other projects. In total, the cowl and hat set used a little over a skein of yarn.
