Hermes is the god (in Greek mythology) of travelers, athletes, and shepherds.

Hermes is a simple and very enjoyable sock pattern to knit, which highlights yarns with more than three rows of stripes. The pattern is detailed step-by-step for creating the textured stitches. It is accompanied by a few tutorials to facilitate the understanding and execution of the knitting project. The sock is knit from the toe up to the calf and features a short-row heel designed without holes (the Cozy Comfy Heel). It’s a quick little project, perfect for gifting or for yourself.

I knitted this design in collaboration with the magnificent yarns from Entre Sœurs et Laine, in the Fête Automnale (Autumn Festival) colorway.

Materials and Needles:
• 2.5 mm (US 1.5) circular needle (39’’, 100 cm cable) and yarn needle, knit using the “magic loop” technique.
• Yarn needle (tapestry needle).
• Stitch Markers.
Gauge:
• 32 sts x 46 rows for 4’’ (10cm), Stockinette stitch in the round, washed and blocked.
Yarn:
• Sock set from Entre Sœurs et Laine, “Fête Automnale” colorway, fingering weight, 80% merino / 20% nylon, 434 meters / 130 g (100 g Main Colour (MC) and 30 g Contrast Colour (CC) implied).
Sizes:
• 1-56, 2-60 3-64, 4-68 sts. Choose your size, example: 1-54 = 54 stitches for the circumference of the foot and leg, with your gauge.
Additional Notes:
• Gauge is important to ensure the finished project is the correct size.
• It is recommended to block the finished project to even out the stitches and achieve the desired dimensions.
• While knitting, try on your sock often so you can adjust as needed.
• Before starting, read the entire pattern completely, as well as the abbreviations.
• The tutorials are for visual support, therefore, for the number of rows, number of stitches, and other details, be sure to read and follow the written pattern.

Hermes est un patron de chaussette simple et très agréable à tricoter, qui met en valeur les laines avec plus de trois rangs de rayures. Le patron est détaillé étape par étape pour la réalisation des points de texture. Il est accompagné de quelques tutoriels afin de faciliter la compréhension et la réalisation du tricot. La chaussette se tricote de la pointe des orteils jusqu’au mollet et présente un talon à rangs raccourcis conçu sans trou (talon Cozy Comfy Heel). C’est un petit projet rapide, idéal à offrir ou à s’offrir.

• 1-56, 2-60 3-64, 4-68 m. Choisir la taille, ex : 1-54 = 54 mailles pour la circonférence du pied et du mollet, avec votre échantillon.
