Worsted weight hat with a cute stranded colorwork motif. It´s a super fun and rewarding little project.

Solid and contrasting colors work best to highlight the design. Colorwork is charted only.

Techniques: work in the round, stranded colorwork, increases (make one), and decreases (k2tog).

SIZE
One size
Finished circumference (unstretched, taken above the rib): 21.5” (55 cm). To be worn with up to 2” (5 cm) of negative ease to 2” (5 cm) of positive ease.
Height: 9.5” (24 cm).

YARN
Worsted weight yarn, approximate amount:

  • Main Color: 175 yards (160 meters) in navy.
  • Contrasting Color: 90 yards (82 meters) in orange.

Shown in Berroco Vintage (52% Acrylic, 40% Wool, 8% Polyamide; 218 yds (199 m) / 100 g). One skein of Dark Denin (Main Color) and one skein of Tang (Contrasting Color).

NEEDLES
US 7 (4.5 mm) and US 5 (3.75 mm) knitting needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round.

NOTIONS
Removable stitch markers and tapestry needle.

GAUGE
20 sts and 21 rows = 4” 10 cm over stranded colorwork pattern in the round on US 7 (4.5 mm) needles after blocking.
