Get your hex on with the protection of your own evil eye sweater. This design works up surprisingly quickly due to the worsted weight yarn. It’s snug and cozy and perfect for layering. You can make a cropped or full-length version, whichever fits your wardrobe best.
Please note that there are two versions of this pattern: the Standard fit and the Custom fit. Read through the description of both to ensure you’ve picked the style that is right for you.

Standard fit: This version is expressly written out with all sizes/numbers already complete for you. If you fit into commercially made women’s clothing without major fit issues, you are safe to work this version. It does not allow for major customization on sizing.

Custom fit: This version is totally customized to your body dimensions. If you do not fit into commercially made women’s clothing without major fit issues, you should work this version. You can also use this version to make a men’s pullover. It is a bit more work; you will have to do some measurements and put them into a spreadsheet to get your custom fit worked out. No guesswork is needed to make sure your sweater will fit how you want it to. Please note that the “Hex Pullover Manual Formula” is an addendum of the “Custom Fit” file; it directs you how to manually calculate your pattern if you prefer, instead of using the auto generated pattern file.

This design is worked from the top down so it’s easy to try on as you go. Simple increases are worked along the neckline as you work a color chart. The sleeves are split from the body of the work after the yoke is complete. The lower body is worked without increases for a boxy shape. Wrap and turn (or preferred short rows) shape a curve along the bottom hem and is completed with ribbing. The sleeves are resumed in the round and worked straight in the established chart. A row of increases create a bell sleeve with a folded and sewn hem.

Size: XS (S, M, L) (XL, 2XL, 3XL) (4XL, 5XL, 6XL) to fit a bust measurement up to:
30” (34”, 38”, 42”) (46”, 50”, 54”) (58”, 62”, 66”)
76 (86, 96.5, 106.5) (117, 127, 137) (147, 158, 167.5) cm.
Note that this design features about 2”/5 cm of positive ease.

Yarn: DK or worsted weight yarn recommended, roughly 70 % in main colors, 15% in contrast color 1, and 15% in all remaining contrast colors (total).
Yards total: 675 (750, 850, 900) (1075, 1250, 1400) (1575, 1725, 1925)
Meters total: 620 (685, 775, 825) (980, 1145, 1280) (1440, 1575, 1760)

Needles: Size US 8/5 mm and size US 7/4.5 mm circular needles with a long (40”/100 cm) cable, or size needed to obtain gauge and one size smaller.

Gauge: 16 – 18 stitches and 20 – 22 rows = 4”/10 cm square in Stockinette stitch (worked in the round) on larger needles.

Techniques: Knitting in the round, basic increases, stranded knitting (Fair Isle), and short rows (wrap and turn or German, if preferred).

Notions: 1 locking stitch marker, 42 stitch markers (optional), scrap yarn, tapestry needle, blocking mat, t-pins, and wires (optional, but very useful).
