I designed this pattern as a scrap-yarn project, but you can work it with any combination of yarn beauties you have at hand like minis or amigurumi skeins. You can be fully flexible in yardage, color combinations, final size of the blanket or even make it a smaller version to be turned into a pillowcase or tote bag – depending on what your yarn stash has to offer and your level of ambition.

The pattern contains instructions for all the elements you need to create your project. You are fully free to combine them as you like – create your own final size and shape. Throughout this pattern, I will provide you with tips, pictures or illustrations as well as links to video tutorials for the more challenging parts. So although it is mixing a number of techiques, it is suitable also to the ambitious beginner.

The hexagon elements are knit from the inside out.

The frequent color changes make for a lot of fun. Since all your small elements can be knit independently of each other, this pattern is also a great to-go project.

You are free to knit this pattern with any yarn(s) you have at hand, even combine different weights if you like, and turn it into a real stashbuster.

My sample measures 120x155cm used up a total of 1200g/ 3000m of the main color (MC) and consists of
• 150 hexagons (I laid them out 10 by 15), 7g/ 18m each
• 15 trapezoids, 4g/ 10m each
• 20 flat triangles, 2-3g/8m each
• 2 rectangular triangles, 2g/5m each

As contrast color, I used Gedifra Violena, but any yarn matching the weight of your main shapes will do here. I used a total of 4.5 skeins (approximately 225g/ 450m).

For me it is easier to knit from the center with DPNs, but depending on your preference you could also knit the hexagons with circular/ interchangeable needles. For my sample, I used 3mm DPNs throughout.
