DESCRIPTION
Did you know knitting could be this hot??? This all-over mesh top is ready for whatever heat your summer brings — dance parties in the sun, cute picnic dates at the park, late night revelries during pride month. Wear it on its own, layered over a tank or a binder (or a swimsuit!), or layered under a strappy sundress or a pair of overalls.
The design features top-down, seamless construction, and the pattern includes instructions for sleeveless, short sleeve, and full sleeve versions, optional thumbholes, common fit adjustments, and 6 original video tutorials to be sure you get all the details just right!
SIZING
All of my garment patterns are #sizeinclusive to fit up to at least a 60”/150cm full chest circumference.
Sized to fit upper chest circumference:
In inches: (30, 34, 38) [42, 46, 50] {54, 58, 62}
In centimeters: (75, 85, 95) [105, 115, 125] {135, 145, 155}
Select the size with the measurements that match your own as closely as possible. Click here for a free PDF with additional details to help you take your measurements and pick the size that will give you the best fit!
GAUGE, NEEDLES, NOTIONS
Gauge: 16 sts and 16 rows over 4”/10cm in hex mesh
Gauge is extremely difficult to measure in hex mesh because the fabric is so stretchy. I have written out detailed instructions with an accompanying video tutorial to help you understand how to work the mesh pattern and check your gauge.
Recommended needles:
- Main needles: US 8 (5.0mm) circular needles (more details about recommended cord length provided in pattern)
- Smaller needles: US 4 (3.5mm) circular needles (more details about recommended cord lengths provided in pattern)
Notions: scrap yarn (for provisional cast on), stitch markers, darning needle
YARN
This pattern was designed in the Wandering Flock Cotton Lino, a sport weight 35% Organic Cotton/30% Mulberry Silk/20% Linen/15% Alpaca yarn. This sweet summer yarn has some structure and in-elasticity from the plant fibers but a beautiful sheen and drape from the Alpaca and silk. The unique fiber blend makes Cotton Lino well-suited for projects from fingering through DK weight — which, similarly, the mesh stitch in this pattern means that it can be successfully knit in fingering through DK weights, so long as you adjust your needle sizes to get gauge!
YARN REQUIREMENTS:
Full length sleeves:
(400, 450, 510) 560, 610, 660 {725, 785, 850} yards / (365, 410, 465) 510, 560, 605 {665, 720, 775} meters
Short sleeves:
(365, 410, 465) 510, 560, 605 {665, 720, 775} yards / (330, 370, 420) 460, 505, 545 {600, 650, 700} meters
