I first made this pattern for the first Sock it to the weekend box made by Temporal Spin UK.
I love hand made socks……… but I really don’t enjoy working with sock weight yarn (don’t tell anyone ).
So I made some DK weight socks, and I just fell in love! Squishier than fingering weight yarn socks, but not so hot like Aran weight socks. Just like wearing clouds on your feet. I can not recommend the 50/50 merino silk yarn highly enough for these socks……. so soft!

So, a little roll top ankle sock for the summer is what I wanted. it’s a pretty simple pattern, if you are an experienced sock knitter, these are a walk in the park. BUT if you are a brand new sock knitter then this pattern may be just what you need. I have included lots of extra notes (in blue font) to explain each process for sock newbies. Hopefully it takes some of the new sock anxiety away.

Please ask any questions :)
I have had the pattern tested, but I am only human, and a dyslexic one at that, so if you find any mistakes or typos, please let me know so I can amend :)

Looking forward to seeing your projects.
