It was a quiet September evening. After having enjoyed a delicious dinner, my husband and I decided to take a short walk through the small, scenic town. The day had been unusually warm for the season, and surprisingly enough, we could still wear short-sleeved shirts without getting cold.
It was time for the sun to make its way towards the horizon, and our footsteps led us down upon small, paved, wavering roads towards the sea.
On a green luscious hill, we found a wooden bench with a beautiful view of the sea, and we took a seat to watch the calm water softly hitting the pebbled shore
There, upon the verdant hill, we got to see a spectacular sunset glow in flamingly warm colours. The sky slowly darkened as the sun descended into the sea.
Our day could not have ended more perfectly.

About the pattern
The pattern is available in Swedish, Finnish and English!
The socks are knit from the toe up to the cuff with a gusset-heel flap heel. The pattern is made with lifted and twisted stitches.
For this kind of heel, it is important to start with the gusset in time, therefore I have included tips and tricks on sizing.

Sizes
A (B) C (D) E
The sock’s circumference around the ball of the foot is
14 (16.5) 19 (21) 23.5, to fit foot circumferences of
16-20 (18,5-22,5) 21-25 (23,5-27,5) 26-30 cm
The length of the sock is adjustable.

Gauge
34 sts and 45 rnds = 10x10 cm in stocking stitch after blocking
Normally I would recommend knitting a swatch to make sure your gauge is correct. When knitting socks, the toe can serve as a swatch, just be prepared that you might need to start the toe over again if your gauge is too much different from the pattern.

Yarn
Taivaanranta yarn 75% superwash merino/25% nylon, 425 metres per 100 g or other sock yarn in fingering weight, approx. 375-425 metres per 100g

MC: 200 (240) 280 (310) 350 metres

CC: 90 (100) 110 (120) 130 metres

Needles & Notions
4 stitch markers

1 unique stitch marker for BOR m

Tapestry needle
Needles for working on a small circumference in size to obtain gauge, e.g. circular needles of at least 80 cm, double-pointed needles (DPNs), 23 cm circulars, or CrasyTrios/FlexiFlops.
When knitting the sample, gauge was obtained on 2.5 mm needles.
