DESCRIPTION
There’s nothing like the cozy vibe of a shawl collar. The cross is just so strong and appealing, it’s hard to resist its cabin-type, cutting firewood-esque look. Based on a cabin sweater my dad used to wear every fall at our cabin in Gull Lake, this pullover has all of those feels in all the right places, with a nice modern take.
Knit in the round, this seamless sweater is knit in a bottom-up style and has 4-6 inches (10-15cm) of positive ease. You will cast on for the bottom hem, work up to the under arms and then split for the front and back panels. The collar is then split and then shaped in the front. Once finished, you will work the back panel and finish with a seamless three needle bind-off. Your collar will be picked up and then seamed to create that crossed “shawl” collar. Finally, the arms are picked up and worked in the round down to the cuff.
This pattern is written in 9 sizes – XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). It is suggested that you highlight your size, so you know which stitch count to follow. The model pictured is wearing size M, is 5’10 and has a chest circumference of 38” in circumference, for reference.
