Hjerteranken - Danish for String of Hearts - is a knitted letter bunting, created to carry names, words, or greetings – and to celebrate life’s big and small moments that touch the heart. With
this pattern, you can make your own decorative and personal garland, knitted with love, stitch by stitch.

Hjerteranken consists of small knitted flags with i-cord edges, embroidered with your chosen letters using duplicate stitch. The pattern includes instructions for the letters A–Z (and the Danish letters Æ, Ø and Å), a hyphen symbol, as well as a chart for a heart motif, and Dannebrog, the Danish flag (and similar flags) – making the garland suitable for any occasion: from decorating the nursery, to birthday gifts, or as a personal touch in your home.

Each flag requires two colors of yarn:

• Yarn A = 5 g
• Yarn B = 1 g

Hjerteranken is therefore a perfect scrap-yarn project, giving new life to even the smallest leftovers.
