The Hobo Bag is designed for an 18” doll like an American Girl, Journey Girl or Madame Alexander.

The bag is worked from the bottom up starting with a rectangle base. Stitches are picked up in reverse to start the body leaving an “exposed seam”. Once the body is knitted, the stitches are separated to knit the straps using an i-cord technique. The straps are knitted different lengths so the knot does not fall on the top of the dolls shoulder.

There are variation suggestions for stripes and flower details, but have fun creating your own personalized versions of the patterns.

There will be a whole series of bags available eventually, so keep an eye out for new additions.

My patterns are free… I ask that you do not sell them or replicate them.
