Is it a pillow or a stuffie? Is a platypus a beaver or a duck? They’re both a hodgepodge! This little buddy is knitted in the round via magic loop and is 100% seamless! Not even any stitches to pick up. The feet and tail are knitted separately, and then seamlessly attached to the body while you knit it, and then the head and bill are knitted onto the body. When you finish the bill, there’s no seaming or finishing to do for the project beyond weaving in ends. When you’re done, you’re done! A very gratifying knit.

This requires a knowledge Judy’s Magic Cast-on (link provided in pattern), and knitting in the round. It is written specifically for magic loop construction with one 40-inch+ circular needle, but experienced knitters could easily adapt it for dpns or two circulars. You will need at least one dpn in size 7 or close to size 7 for the 3-needle decreases. Instructions for the 3-needle decrease used to join pieces together are given in the pattern.

Pattern requires 107 yards of gray worsted weight yarn, and 160 yards of brown worsted weight yarn.
