The Holey Tunic is worked bottom up in the round, to create a tube. The tunic is knitted sleeveless with a boat neckline.
Using DK weight yarn, this simple design features a Cast off and Cast on stitches, which makes an interesting holey pattern.
Style this tunic on its own as a sleeveless dress or simply wear it layered over another dress, skirt, trousers, a t-shirt and leggings for a casual look, or pair it with a tulle lining for a more glamorous look. It is very versatile to compliment any wardrobe.
SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE. MATERIALS REQUIRED
• 5(7) x 100g balls 1500(2100)m or 1640(2297)yds using Alize Cashmira 56 colour yarn (Red shade), or alternatively use any DK weight.
NB If you substitute another yarn, please check tension and yardage.
• 1 Circular needle 3.50mm x 80cm (US 4).
• 1 Stitch marker.
• 1 Stitch holder.
• 1 Tapestry needle.
NB Needle size is only a guide- if you get too many stitches on 10cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10cm, take a smaller needle size.
MEASUREMENTS AFTER BLOCKING
(The knitted fabric is stretchy).
To Fit: S/M (33 - 36in bust), M/L (36 - 38in bust).
Actual Measurements:
Flat width not stretched (just below armhole) - 44(50)cm / 171⁄2(193⁄4)ins. Length (from top of the shoulders) - 94(103)cm / 37(401⁄2)ins.
Armhole (half to shoulder) - 17(25)cm / 63⁄4(93⁄4)ins.
GAUGE (Tension): 27sts and 32rows = 10cm (4ins), measured over CO and BO st pattern, (garment being blocked), using 3.50mm (US4) needle or tension before starting, as working to the wrong tension will mean your garment won’t be size shown.
NB. The Tunic pattern is in 2 sizes: S/M with M/L in parentheses.
