This classic black and white houndstooth crew neck vest is versatile as it is not too thick to wear in the warm weather or as an outer layer on a chilly day.

This crew neck vest is made bottom up in turning rounds - join and turn - so that the yarn can be picked up for the next round without cutting it off. Hence, there is no need for sewing, and the seam is barely visible. The houndstooth pattern is a repeat of single crochet stitches alternating with double crochet stitches. It consists of three parts: body, yoke, and ribbed edges.

It does not require that much yarn, probably less than half a skein for each colour. 1 skein is 280 m. I didn’t start with a whole skein, so I can’t be sure.

Check out the note on the pattern on my website.
