Meet the Hugglings—adorable little monsters always ready to share a hug. With their arms held open wide, they’re a charming way to send a special hug to anyone who could use a bit of extra warmth and cheer.

You can knit a sun hat, a cap, or even both—so your Huggling can change their look whenever the mood strikes!

Hugglings are knitted flat all in one piece, with just a touch of seaming to keep things simple and satisfying.
You’ll use simple shaping (like knit two together and knit front and back), making this pattern perfect for new knitters.

You’ll knit Hugglings from the feet up—first making two legs, then joining them before working the body. Don’t worry, I’ll guide you through each step, row by row.

The arm stitches are held on stitch holders until the body is complete, then slipped back onto the needles to knit each arm—just follow along with the instructions and you’ll find it’s a breeze.

The sun hat features a sweet little flower decoration, while the cap has a simple, knitted peak sewn into place—fun details that give each Huggling their own personality.

Hugglings are a quick and easy project, just right for confident beginners who want to spread a little handmade happiness.

You’ll find full, clear making-up instructions to guide you through sewing up your Huggling, plus step-by-step directions for adding embroidered eyes.
