This two- or three-color stranded knit beanie uses #1 super fine yarns and will likely fit most girls from ages 5 -12. The floats make it doubly warm. Be sure to check gauge and go up in needle size if necessary for the gauge. Carry floats loosely across the back of the work.

The beanie is worked in the round on the right side only and includes a chart. The knitter should use any length circular needle for colorwork that she/he finds most comfortable. A needle length of 20-24 inches will help to carry the floats loosely across the back of the work. A 40 inch or longer, for magic looping, will also do the same.

Photographed hats used Yarnbrary yarns for the pink/cream color hat and Yarnbrary, TreasureGoddess and Lumen yarns for the grey(s) and pink hat. Stash yarn works great if there is at least 125-150 yds per color leftover from a shawl or sock project.

Coming in September 2019, the hat is featured on the
2020 Knitting calendar. The calendar features 100+ knitting patterns.
