Beautiful self-striping yarn and slip stitch do the magic!

The color work is done with slip stitches which means you work only with 1 color in each round - you don’t need to carry the yarn. So easy!!

The bottom ribbing starts with a textured garter stitch rib which smoothly continues to the slip stitch pattern. And yes! the garter stitch rib is another EASY beautiful pattern.

The slip stitch pattern continues to the crown shaping. A bit slouchy hat shows off a well designed top when you are wearing the hat :)

YARN
MC (white) - 90 (105, 115) yards
CC (self-striping) - 50 (60, 70) yards

The sample is knitted with Schoppel “Reggae Ombre” and Malabrigo “Washted”. Both yarns are available at Knit House on Main.

One skein of each yarn is enough to make 1 small and 1 medium hat. If you choose to knit a beanie style (not slouchy), you should have enough to make 2 medium hats :)

NEEDLES
You need small size needles and main size needles.
Suggested needle size - US 6 & 7

GAUGE
20 sts / 4” in stockinette st and slip st pattern.
Please check your gauge with main size needles in stockinette st and wet-blocking.

SIZE
3 sizes are available in the pattern.
S (M, L) - 18 (20, 22)“ circumference

The hat is designed to be a bit slouchy. If you repeat 1 less slip stitch pattern, the hat will be a beanie style.
