When finding a name for this one, my friend said it reminded her of cupcake papers and “I Am the Frosting” was born.

I have tried this “poncho” on my plus-sized friend, and its proportions look just as great on her (maybe better) as it does on my size 10 self and my size 4 friend, so you shouldn’t need to scale it.

This pattern features the garter accordion stitch, Latvian braid to create a stark separation between the neck and shoulders, and twisted rib for a neck to help hold its shape a bit better.

Using the larger gauge needle for this weight yarn creates a soft, squishy fabric and uses less yarn.

The pictured garment was knit with 2 colors, a solid closely matching a hand-dyed variegated yarn. if you choose to use a single color, you will simply join a second skein (or the other end of the skein you’re working on) during the Latvian braid section.

Yarn: 3 – 100g skeins of fingering weight for mc
1 – 100g skein of fingering weight for cc
Needles: US6 (4mm) 24-inch circular
US6 (4mm) 16-inch circular
Gauge: 6sts per inch
Notions: Stitch marker and Yarn needle

Happy Knitting!
