When I got some pale blue cotton yarn this summer, all I could think about was the ice cream of my childhood in Warren, Michigan: Blue Moon. Every Saturday morning, my dad would take me bargain hunting at Farmer Jack’s and Kroger and Randazzo’s, and we ended our quest at Stroh’s Ice Cream on 14 mile and Schoenherr. And I always got Blue Moon. The color captivated me.

I couldn’t find a dishcloth that was an ice cream cone, so I decided to try the pattern myself. The cone section is an increasing seed stitch which is simply alternating knit and purl every row. It gets a little tricky with the increases. The ice cream section is just a simple garter stitch. Enjoy!
