This is one of 3 cowls that uses a bold stitch pattern in 3 beautiful ways.

This version is perfect for kids - they love cowls because they don’t get in the way of outdoor play. It can’t get tangled, lost or dangled in the mud…well, not as easily as a scarf!

Choose a yarn with great stitch definition and in a solid colour. Work slightly looser than ball band tension for a soft fabric.

The group of cowl patterns for men, women & kids are not available separately because you are getting all 3 versions together in the Ice Storm: Cowls ebook for the price of one of my regular cowl patterns - I like my customers to feel they are getting great value. You can also buy the 3 cowls together with the adult mitts pattern in the ebook Ice Storms.

Worked in the round, the pattern information is both charted AND given in written instructions.

This is an easy piece to try working in the round on dpns, two sets of circular needles or magic loop for the first time. For intermediate knitters, the developing stitch pattern will keep you interested.

Size
23cm/9” tall x 47cm/18 1/2” around. Fits age 2 generously, ages 4-12 well.
Tip: my knitting group played with all 3 cowls and we discovered by chance that this version is also perfect proportions for a petite/XS adult, much to the delight of my petite knitting friend who usually finds regular cowls too draughty.
