Icicles and snowballs !!!!! I must be getting ready for winter.

This scalloped edge is one of my favorite patterns. Unusual enough to really grab my interest, but nicely balanced out in the body of the scarf with a very easy lace stitch. Knit with DK weight yarn on #8 needles the project moves along at a nice pace. The stitches used are easy, lots of yo’s, K2tog, Ssk and SK2P.

The scarf is knit in one piece, no seams ! YEAH !!!!! The Icicles body pattern can be repeated more or less to change desired width of scarf. The length can be altered by more or less of the 32 row repeat. Blocking will always enhance the appearance of any lace work, so is strongly recommended. One nice thing I enjoy about Knit Picks Swish DK is that is so easily blocked. Once wet, the finished piece can be shaped on towels without the use of wires or pins, but the use of them is always preferred.

Using different yarns and needles will change the dimensions of the scarf. But what fun to try something new.
Materials needed for this project are…
#8 5.00 mm Straight knitting needles, 650 - 700 yds DK weight yarn, and 2 stitch markers
.
