A stylish warm hat surrounded by fun loopy cables. The cables can be worked either with 2 cable needles or just the one, full instructions are given for both techniques so you may see which way you prefer.

Twisted stitches are used to make the rib and cables stand out more (and they look a little neater) but if twisted stitches aren’t your thing feel free to read all the k1tbl stitches as simply k1

Sizing:
Choose a size approximately 5cm / 2” smaller than actual head circumference:

Preemie: 24cm / 9 ½“ circumference, 11cm / 4 ¼” height
Newborn: 30cm / 11 ¾“ circumference, 13cm / 5 ⅛” height
Baby: 36cm / 14 ¼“ circumference, 15cm / 5 ⅞” height
Toddler/Child: 42cm / 16 ½“ circumference, 17.5cm / 6 ⅞” height
Adult: 48cm / 18 ¾“ circumference, 21cm / 8 ¼” height

You will need:
Up to 120m Aran yarn
4mm (UK 8 / US 6) double pointed or circular needles
4.5mm (UK 7 / US 7) double pointed or circular needles
1 or 2 Dpns cable needle
And a Stitch marker to mark the beginning of round
