Hand dyed yarn is responsible for some of the most unique and beautiful colorways available. But sometimes it can be hard to find patterns for those drastic color changes! Furthermore, if you only have 100 grams to work with, you want to know you’re getting as much yardage out of a scarf as possible.

This pattern uses BLO Dc stitches to solve both of those problems. Working with a large hook in BLO gives an exceptionally elegant drape to the fabric, and preserves every bit of its softness, while making sure you get as long of a scarf as possible from only one hank of yarn. The texture that comes from the stitches is very subtle yet visually interesting enough to enhance a variegated colorway, instead of distracting from it.

The PDF includes two variations of the infinity scarf. The Skinny Infinity Scarf is 74 inches around, and 5 inches wide. The Thicker Infinity Scarf is 37 inches around, and ten inches wide. Thanks to the BLO stitches, the scarf has a comfortable stretch to make it easy to wear.

The PDF includes tips on how to substitute any yarn, but the stitch counts I use are for the following materials:

  • 100 grams (approx 245 yards) of dk yarn
  • A Size K hook
