The Ingrid Cowl is inspired by my dear friend Ingrid, who has made our workplace a warm and welcoming space. One day I saw in my mind a braided cowl made in alpaca and I knew I had to make it for her.

This cowl is a one size only pattern and it’s knit flat with three different cable patterns that go horizontally across the neck, separated by seed stitch panels, and finished with an icord edge. It uses a provisional cast on to achieve an invisible seam that doesn’t break the design.

Final measurements are 7’’ tall and 22’’ circumference. A wider cowl can be made by making more repeats.

The original sample is made using a single skein of Azapa by Lanas Isabel Margarita Pérez (100% alpaca wool, sport weight, 182m/199 yd in 100gr). Any sport weight yarn can be used.

Pattern includes both charts and written instructions.

Gauge:
20 st and 24 rows in 4’’ in stockinette stitch knit flat, measured after blocking.
37 st and 32 rows in 4’’ in the 32-stitch cable pattern and one panel of seed stich, measured after blocking.

Aguja lanera
5 marcadores de punto (opcionales)
Lana de descarte
Gancho de crochet (para montaje provisional)

Técnicas usadas:
