This shawl is an ode to love, an ode to a city I love.
Innamurata - neapolitan for ‘in love’.
Napoli, Naples. It’s one of the most chaotic, dirty and even dangerous cities in the world. It divides feelings, some people never return. It’s also one of the most beautiful, authentic, vibrant and loving cities in the world. Napoli doesn’t ask who you are or where you come from. It accepts you with its arms wide open, it absorbs you. Where else in the world would you hear a radio from an open window, the song makes you dance and it seems normal? Where else does the pizza make you fall in love as here? Where else is the smell of coffee so strong and heady as in Naples?

Innamurata is an allover lace shawl. The shawl is knit from the top down. Knitting begins with the garter tab started using the Turkish CO. After the increase rows, the lace patterns are established. There’s no lace knitting on the WS, but all RS rows are knit in lace pattern. Pattern repeat markers need to be adjusted several times within charts. One lace pattern
evolves from the other creating a fluent look. A deep, curved
shape stays well on your shoulders.
Note that is not a beginner lace pattern. You need to be able to read your knitting, work long pattern repeats and adjust markers several times.

Finished measurements
Upper edge 144 cm / 46.75”, depth 48 cm / 19”

Needles
3.5 mm (US 4) - 100 cm / 40” circular needles, or as required to obtain gauge.

Yarn requirements
Decida Merino/silk/yak 480 m
(65 % Merino wool, 20 % silk, 15 % yak, 480 m / 120 g)
2 skeins or 540 m / 590 yds of fingering weight yarn.
Shown in color Red.

Gauge
18.5 sts x 24.5 rows = 10 cm /4” with 3.5 mm (US 4) needles in Innamurata lace after blocking.
(NOTE: Gauge is not crucial, but it will affect finished dimensions and yarn consumption.)

Notions
Tapestry needle.
Highly suggested: stitch markers for pattern repeats, crochet hook for BO.

Skills needed: Garter tab CO, lace knitting with basic increases and decreases on RS, reading your knitting, using pattern repeat markers. For the bind off I suggest the crochet version, but the video tutorial helps with the knit version as well.
