This versatile pattern allows for lots of customization. The simplest form, a plain chain mesh shawl, is easy for even a beginner to do. An advanced beginner to intermediate crocheter can make the Irish Crochet motifs and applique them on to the finished shawl. An intermediate to advanced crocheter can make the motifs and use the traditional method (directions in the pattern) to attach them to the mesh as it’s created. Motifs can be arranged as directed, or according to the whim of the crocheter! By working Irish Crochet in yarn instead of thread, this traditional art becomes accessible to those for whom thread is too difficult or intimidating… or those who want a beautiful and warm shawl for chilly days.
