Knit the Isometric Screenshot Shawl! It combines bias and traditional top-down shawl techniques. None of these are difficult, but the finished effect is kind of neat. Wear it to a Minecraft convention. Or don’t! You do what you want.

My sample was made with what I had on hand. The contrast between yarn types isn’t integral to the finished look, and it might (or frankly, probably would) be improved if you opted to use 4 skeins of Cascade or Malabrigo together. (The Colrain Lace is also nice, but definitely different to the others.)

Gauge is 19 sts and 40 rows over 4”/10cm of garter stitch, worked flat, and blocked.
Please be sure to check your gauge.
It will affect size and yarn requirements.
(Just between you and me, if those are not strict parameters for you, you can get away without checking gauge or following it excessively closely.)

  • 100 yds C1; 115 yds C2; 155 yds C3, 170 yds C4; as shown, that’s 100 yds Colrain Lace in Silver, 115 yds Cascade Heritage Sock in Fern, 155 yds Cascade Heritage Sock in Cedar Green, and 170 yards Malabrigo Yarn Mechita in Arco Iris.
  • One 48” circular knitting needle in US4-5/3.5-3.75mm, or size needed for gauge, used to knit flat
  • Optional: removable stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle
