This scarf is not limited to a specific width or length. The yarns listed are mostly worsted/aran weight. However, this scarf can be done in any weight of yarn you choose. Just increase the size needle you would normally use for the yarn by two or three sizes. One tester used two strands of #10 crochet cotton held together and it worked beautifully for a light summer scarf. Another tester likes wide scarves, so cast on more stitches. This is a scarf of infinite variety. It can be an accessory for all tastes and styles just by changing the yarns used.
