Sizes: A (B, C, D, E) (F, G, H, I)

Actual garment size measured at the bust: 26 (30, 34, 38, 42) (46, 50, 54, 58)” / 66 (76, 86, 96, 106) (117, 127, 137, 147) cm

To fit bust sizes up to: 30 (34, 38, 42, 46) (50, 54, 58, 60)” / 76 (86, 96, 106, 117) (127, 137, 147, 157) cm

Choosing your size and fit: The stated measurements are for the actual garment, choose a size with your desired ease, between 1”/2.5 cm - 4”/10 cm negative ease is recommended. Sample is size B worn on 32”/81cm and 34”/86 cm bust with 2”/5cm and 4”/10 cm negative ease.

Yarn: Sample knitted in Sandnes Sunday (235m/50g). Any yarn that meets the gauge may be used.

Note: As this top is knit with negative ease you should use a yarn with some stretch, 100% cotton, linen, bamboo or other plant based fibres will not have sufficient stretch. Choose yarns with some wool content, cotton/merino blends will likely work well.

Yardage:

140 (160, 175, 190, 210) (230, 250, 270, 290) grams

658 (752, 822, 893, 987) (1081, 1175, 1269, 1363) metres

Note: The yardage is for a cropped length top, if you’d like to make it longer add about 20% extra yarn.

Needles: 2.5 mm & 3 mm circular needles and/or DPNs.

Needle sizes are recommended, choose a size needed to achieve gauge, the smaller needle should be 0.5 mm smaller than the larger needle.

Gauge: 28 stitches & 38 rows per 4” / 10 cm in cable pattern on larger needles after blocking.

Notions: 2 spare cables or waste yarn to hold the back and shoulders, at least 10 removable stitch markers and 1 sliding marker.

Difficulty: Intermediate/advanced. As this pattern is aimed at experienced knitters, instructions for specific special stitches are given, but general technique instructions are not given in this pattern, however all techniques are standard and tutorials can easily be found online. Techniques required for this pattern include: german short rows, cable knitting, knitting in the round, knitting from charted instructions, and picking up stitches.
