Description
The Ivy Line Wrap Cardigan is knitted from top to bottom in back-and-forth rows using stockinette stitch.

Increases in the front panel create two overlapping front sections that form the characteristic wrap look.

After casting on, the shoulder and front sections are shaped first, before the body and sleeves are worked separately.

The sleeves have a slightly ballooned shape. They are finished with a simple I-cord.

The edge is decorated with fine picot stitches.

Finally, an I-cord is knitted onto each lower front edge to serve as a tie. This allows the cardigan to be wrapped flexibly.

The cardigan is designed with a positive ease of approx. 8–12 cm, which is already included in the recommended sizing. Simply choose your size based on your actual bust measurement.

Note on yarn choice

If you decide to use a different yarn, you should choose very carefully: The wrap technique only works reliably with fluffy, slightly textured yarns. I therefore strongly recommend the original yarn, Kremke Plain Cashmere, in combination with BC Svala—alternatively to cashmere you can use BC Bio Shetland or Kremke Edelweiß Alpaca.

Smooth, elastic yarns such as pure merino wool are unsuitable here, as they stretch too much and do not hold their shape.

Important note
The cardigan should not be knitted significantly longer than described (20cm from armpit), as this will affect the functionality of the wrap construction. If you choose to lengthen the cardigan, additional increases along both outer edges should be worked after separating the sleeves to maintain the correct shape.

Beschreibung
Der Ivy Line Wrap Cardigan wird nahtlos von oben nach unten in Hin- und Rückreihen glatt rechts gestrickt.

Durch Zunahmen im Vorderteil entwickeln sich zwei überlappende Frontpartien, die die charakteristische Wickeloptik bilden.

Nach dem Anschlag werden zunächst Schulter- und Vorderteilbereiche geformt, bevor Rumpf und Ärmel getrennt weitergearbeitet werden.

Die Ärmel sind leicht ballonartig gearbeitet. Abgeschlossen werden sie mit einem I-Cord-Rand.

Die Blende wird mit feinen Mäusezähnchen verziert.

Zum Abschluss wird an den unteren Vorderkanten jeweils ein I-Cord angestrickt, der als Bindeband dient.

Hinweis zur Garnwahl
Der Ivy Line Wrap Cardigan lebt von Struktur und leichtem Griff. Die Wickeltechnik funktioniert nur zuverlässig mit fluffigen, leicht griffigen Garnen.
Ich empfehle klar die Originalkombination aus Kremke Plain Cashmere und BC Svala. Alternativ zum Kaschmir funktioniert auch BC Bio Shetland oder Kremke Edelweiß Alpaca sehr gut.
Glatte, sehr elastische Garne wie reine Merinowolle sind ungeeignet, da sie zu stark nachgeben und die Form des Cardigans nicht stabil halten.

Der Cardigan sollte nicht wesentlich länger gestrickt werden als in der Anleitung angegeben (20 cm ab Achsel), da sonst die Wickelbarkeit verloren geht.
Wenn du ihn dennoch verlängern möchtest, solltest du ab der Ärmelabtrennung an beiden Außenkanten zusätzliche Zunahmen einarbeiten, um die Form beizubehalten.
