This pullover is dedicated to Jeanne Hébuterne, the companion of Amedeo Modigliani, who took her own life while eight months pregnant, right after his death.

There were two things in Modigliani’s paintings that deeply shaped my teenage imagination:
the intense, dark red that almost felt like velvet, and the absence of eyes in most of his portraits.

Modigliani believed that eyes were the mirror of the soul, he couldn’t paint them unless he truly knew the person’s spirit.
Among the few women he painted with eyes was Jeanne, his beloved companion and muse.

This design is dedicated to her.

It’s a comfortable pullover with plenty of ease, starting with a yoke and gentle increases along the raglan line, which makes it both easy to shape and effortless to wear.
A simple sweater with small details that make it special, unforgettable for its simplicity, comfort, and color.

This is a circular yoke-neck pullover worked from the top down. A section of German short rows are worked at the back neck, lower yoke and lower hem for a more comfortable fit. Neck and sleeve instructions are written to use DPNs, however an alternate method of working small circumferences can be used, such as Magic-Loop. As the yoke increases, change to a longer circular needle when necessary.
