I first made this blanket for a coworker’s new baby and that it why it is affectionately called “Joe’s Blanket” It is a simple repeating pattern that is easy to memorize, but creates different textured stripes. Try working with different colors to add even more interest.

About the e-book: Snuggle up with this collection of blankets today! Digital booklet of 3 patterns to create your very own hand crocheted blankets! Patterns use worsted weight and sport weight yarn and a H (5.0 mm) and I (5.5 mm) hooks. Make them for yourself or as a gift! They make excellent birthday or holiday gifts. Each pattern also includes tips for how to adjust for different sizes or yarn weights.

These patterns were developed to accompany my Crochet Foundations beginning crochet course. Since they were designed with teaching beginners in mind, they use simple stitches and techniques. They are perfect for someone just starting out as well as seasoned crocheters. Techniques required are chaining, single crochet, double crochet, paired single crochet (instructions included), working around a border and weaving in ends.

Abbreviations used are listed with each pattern as well as any special stitches or techniques unique to that pattern. All patterns are written using US terms.
