These mitten are constructed by first doing a ribbed cuff, then a Latvian Braid, then following charts to the tip of the mitten. The charts are for a checkerboard palm and thumb/gusset and a flower pattern for the front of the mitten.

All yarns are Knit Pick Palette 100% wool fingering weight
Seafaring (MC) 66 yds

Skills used for these mittens: knitting in the round, reading colorwork charts, Kitchener Stitch to finish the mitten. The Latvian Braid is explained in detail in this pattern. You will need to read from 3 different chart while constructing the mitten. Once you get the pattern of the checkerboard down you can do the palms without looking at the chart. All colorwork is done with only 2 stands at a time.
