Julie is as practical as she is beautiful. The all-over lace was adapted from a vintage lingerie knitting pattern from the 1940’s. The breathability of this lace creates a garment that can be worn from Spring through Fall.

The Julie Cardigan is a great project to work on in the warm days of July and a great way to focus on one piece of lace at a time. The end result is far worth the effort for a cardigan which hardly looks handmade, but rather like something that might be sold in a high end lingerie shop. Dress Julie up or down, she floats just as wonderfully whether being worn for a walk in the park or an elegant summer wedding. She is knit flat in pieces and then seamed.

Knit in Sweet Sparrow Yarns Hummingbird.
