Julie's Garden Shawl
This is a shawl inspired by an earlier freeform shawl (last photo) made for the Ravelry IFFF challenge in 2023. This new pattern features dramatic sculptural flowers around the neck edge and an array of stitch patterns evoking buds, insects, trelisses and leaves. You won’t be bored making or wearing this shawl: it invokes pure joy.
It is named for a friend who posts wonderful photos of her garden on Instagram with the handle @our_kentish_garden.
I rate it as ideal for an experienced intermediate crocheter as it includes: many basic stitches as well as bobbles, puff stitches and picots, working in rows below the previous row, and working different types of stitches together.
