JUNIVEER SOCKS
……………………………..

A month of long days and short intense showers, June is when Summer throws open its
shutters and drapes the finest of lace curtains.

In June we live in dappled light, filtered through overarching branches and thickets of ivy.
Light filtered through tall grasses. Light filtered through wildflowers, their petals delicate
and intricate like butterfly wings.

In the midday sun the floral shadows, like lacework, turn forest and meadow into open
air galleries of nature’s finest handiwork - with Juniveer as its fanciful curator.

With their festive, open lacework, the Juniveer Socks look destined for a garden party
setting, peeking out of patent sandals. And they are equally at home on a picnic blanket
with a sketchbook, after traipsing across fields in a pair of weathered clogs.

OPTIONS

Pattern provides options for:
. full lace sock as shown,
. full lace sock with stockinette heel, or
. stockinette sock with 2 vertical lace panels

Note that in fact there are 2 separate patterns included here, as the full lace and lace panel versions require different stitch counts. You can make both versions of the design for two quite different looks based on the same motif.

THE INTEGRATED HEEL METHOD
This pattern features the Integrated Heel method of construction, which looks similar to the traditional heel flap ad gusset, but is worked mainly in the round. The Juniveer Sock pattern instructions are sufficient to work the Integrated Heel if you are new to this method.

However, if you are interested in a more in-depth guide to the Integrated Heel, a ‘vanilla sock’ pattern introducing this method is available here:
