Simple pattern for a beautiful yarn

This pattern is a revision of my previous “Express beanie” hat now made with very similar, yet new yarn. It follows nearly same calculations and uses exactly same knitting techniques. It is totally inspired by the yarn - warm and soft Peruvian bulky wool, excellent for a fast and joyful knit. It comes in many beautiful colors so you can create different looks.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

This pattern is meant for adults, head circumference 54-58 cm/21.6-22.75 inches, but will be good for kids too.
Finished hat is about 25 cm (10 inches) deep.

YARN

The petite wool from WAK (weareknitters.com) , 140 m/153 yds in 100 g/3.5 oz.
You will need one ball of yarn.

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS

US 9 (5.5 mm), double pointed needles, set of 5, for tubular cast on or 1/2 size smaller than main needles.

US 10 (6 mm) double pointed or circular knitting needles to knit the body of the hat or the size to obtain the gauge.
Cable needle.

Tapestry needle or a crochet hook to weave in the ends.

One stitch marker.

GAUGE

16 sts and 18 rnds = 10 cm (4 inches) in 2x2 ribbing on US size 10 (6 mm) needles.

TECHNIQUES USED
Tubular cast on in the round
Circular knitting in rounds in 2 x 2 rib

NOTES

This pattern is worked seamless in rounds from brim to crown.

Cast on and crown shaping are easier worked on double pointed needles.

Tubular cast on is highly recommended for its elasticity, and it just looks great, but any other cast on method that you are comfortable with will work too, just work two extra rounds on the body of your hat.
The set up section is only applicable if you do tubular cast on.
