Kainoruusu is the Finnish name for the Rosa inodora rose species. The delicate and romantic rose pattern is inspired by the Scandinavian knitting heritage and the traditional flower painted furniture of Western Finland.

The mittens are started at the cuff. The thumbs are shaped with thumb gussets that are incorporated into the colorwork pattern. The sample mittens are worked in three colors, but only two colors are worked at the same time.
