Karivembu means, Curry leaves in Tamil. And as the name suggests, the tote bag pattern is an inspiration from the curry leaves.

This design is made as apart of Indian Designers collaboration for their 4th edition, Spices of India

The design of the tote is an inspiration from the individual curry leaves as such and the Curry leave rice, my recipe of choice, made from the spice.

The base, band and handle of the tote is designed using a variegated yarn, a colour that mimics the look of curry leaf rice. The body of the tote, made using a solid green colour, mimics the shape of the curry leaf.

Yarn:
The tote is designed using polyester yarn in two colours of 400m each. One of them is preferably a variegated yarn

If your gauge is quite loose using sport weight yarn, try using a DK weight.
