This is a pattern for a very “long wingspan” crescent shaped shawl. It is knit in the Estonian fashion, and there are two methods of making the “nupps” contained within the pattern. The shawlette measures 68 inches at the widest points across the top and is 24 inches deep at the deepest point. It is made with a heavier of the lace weight yarns, and is knit on size 5 (U.S.) needles.

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The shawl was expertly test knitted by Barbara Robertson, who can be contacted at: Barb. Robertson@gmail.com, and who is known on Ravelry as NanaKnits4Us. The yarn used in the sample is Helen’s Lace by Lorna’s Laces, in colorway, Naperville.
