Katie Snowflake is the first of my new designs for children, I’m so excited to be designing for this age group, and listening as the kids I meet tell me what kind of knits they would like to wear.

Katie Snowflake is designed as a fun layering piece for girls aged 4 to 12. Two sets of front fastening options and hood options are included in the pattern. One version buttons up and other fastens with a zipper (a photo tutorial for zipper insertion is included in the pattern)

The lace pattern is designed to be easy to remember and read, and adds visual impact. The lace instructions are charted AND written.

I have worked one version is a hand painted yarn, and one in plain coloured yarn and the lace pattern still manages to define itself no matter which yarn is used.
