PDF Crochet pattern for the oversize, open sided, perfect-for-layering ’Keith’ sweater vest. Pattern includes sizes S/M-2XL/3XL. It features a straight fit, slightly longer oversize body and a funky faux knit look. This pattern uses slip stitch in back loop ribbing, and hdc in back loop. While this is not a beginner pattern, if you are comfortable reading written instructions, it’s simple enough for your first bigger project working the stitches used. This pattern requires more endurance and tenacity than actual crochet experience. Video tutorial for the edge can be found in the IGTV section of my instagram @honsedesign

This pattern is made with a 6mm/J hook and a 5mm/H hook, and uses approximately 750-970 meters of any dk/cat 3 weight yarn. (Yarn I used: DK yarn in colorway ”Boomslang”, hand dyed by me and can be found in my Etsy store.)

Measurements straight across (not including the side bands that hold the vest together, these add approx 15cm/6in
S/M-49cm/19in
L/XL-56cm/22in
2XL/3XL-63cm/25in

It is a written pattern with step by step instructions, no images for each step. It is in English and uses standard US terminology, with specifics given in both metric and imperial units.

A close friend and I have an inside joke about a Keith. Keith is not a person, per se, but more of a shadow being to pin our problems on. A manifestation of our inner critic so to speak. For the longest time I was scared to make gender inclusive patterns, as I felt I didn’t have the experience. So when I finally did, and this piece was born, it felt natural to name it after the voice in the back of my mind who always doubts my abilities, as a way to both embrace them and show them who’s boss.
